Somewhere along my journey through music players (Winamp 2 → Sonique → Winamp 5 → AIMP → foobar2000), I wondered if I could make my own.

The first step was sketching the UI, on a summer vacation:

“Bring Me to Life” as the placeholder song, huh. What’s next, “Sk8er Boi”?
Some of these designs are just wild.

Then it was time for good old Photoshop 7. Frankly, these look much worse than I remembered:

Apparently, I used something called msdxm.ocx (Windows Media Player ActiveX control file) for playing audio files. This seems to make it no longer possible run the application outside a virtual machine. I’ll get around to that some day.
