2008–
Open-source desktop application for anime enthusiasts

Taiga is my forever project. It’s been around for more than 15 years now. Here’s a timeline of the major events so far:

  • 2008-10-26: Started developing a “MyAnimeList Program”, using Visual Basic 6.
  • 2008-10-28: The program is now called “MyAnimeUpdater”.
  • 2008-11-05: Toradora! #5 becomes the first episode scrobbled with the program.
  • 2009-03-12: The program is now called “Taiga”.
  • 2010-01-17: Started rewriting Taiga from scratch, using C++.
  • 2010-06-09: First public release
  • 2010-10-18: Source code is released on Google Code.
  • 2013-11-18: Source code is moved to GitHub.
  • 2014-03-21: v1.0 is released.
  • 2014-06-20: Added Hummingbird support.
  • 2017-11-04: Crunchyroll incident
  • 2018-04-05: Added AniList and Kitsu support.
  • 2018-08-05: AniList becomes the default service.
